生質能源政策 魏國彥：不會停
新北市八里汙水處理廠四座閒置的蛋形消化槽試辦廚餘沼氣發電案，環保署喊停。環保署長魏國彥昨晚指出，主要是在設計過程中，發現國內廚餘油脂較多，國人飲食習慣偏好煎、炒等熟食，廚餘結構不同於外國，消化槽無法消化，甚至嚴重堵塞，沼氣發電成效不佳，因此暫停。
台灣的廚餘結構大致分為果皮、葉菜等「生廚餘」，以及剩菜、剩飯等「熟廚餘」。魏國彥說，台灣太多熟廚餘，也有民眾「什麼都丟進廚餘裡」，須有前處理機制（將無機物分離出來，有的需要再加熱等），甚至需興建前處理廠，若在其他廠區處理，也必須將運送路程能源消耗算進來。
「總不能花了五度電，生產出來只能兩度電，這樣還要不要做？」魏國彥說，經過多次專家會議，六月共同做出決策，讓新北市計畫暫停，但生質能源的政策不會停止；當初希望活化八里廠，就是不希望閒置，至於過程中要改裝、要更新，必須要有更完整的技術，才能繼續做下去。
